    Position Summary:

    The mission of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) is to feed those who are hungry in the Trenton area and to offer programs that encourage self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life of its patrons.

    The Development & Marketing Manager primarily supports the growth of TASK’s annual fund by managing key donor communications, supporting stewardship efforts, developing marketing collateral, overseeing TASK’s digital footprint and supporting TASK’s fundraising efforts with respect to individual giving. This person will also be responsible for content creation across TASK’s multi-channel communications strategy. This position currently reports to the Chief Development Officer.

    Strong writing and communication skills, self-motivation, flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to successfully handle multiple projects and deadlines are essential to this position. This is a full-time, hybrid, salaried position located in Trenton, NJ.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and implement a comprehensive annual fund strategy including direct mail, email, online fundraising and digital marketing in an effort to increase donor retention and acquisition.
    • Oversee annual fund campaigns, timeline management, content development, vendor relations and reporting.
    • Track and monitor annual fund progress according to the goals outlined in the agency’s fund development plan, including regular reporting on giving trends, solicitation performance and return on investment.
    • Work with the donor services team to segment donor lists, create mailing lists, analyze performance and ensure timely and accurate recording of donations in the donor database.
    • Manage and update TASK’s digital communications including agency website, social media channels and monthly e-newsletters.
    • Contribute to TASK’s print communications including its print newsletters, promotional materials, advertising campaigns, press releases and other publications.
    • Create key donor stewardship materials and oversee donor recognition efforts and acknowledgments.
    • As assigned, attend events that will increase engagement of donors, volunteers and other agency partners.
    • Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Development Officer.

    Necessary Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Self-motivation, flexibility, attention to detail and a collaborative spirit
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Donor database experience desired; Donor Perfect experience preferred
    • Experience with email marketing platforms desired; experience with Constant Contact preferred
    • Familiarity with website management and WordPress

    Required Credentials:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, fundraising or a related field.
    • 2–4 years of experience in fundraising and/or or nonprofit marketing.

    Compensation:

    Salary range: $64,000 - $70,000

    Schedule:

    38 hours per week Monday through Friday.

    Attendance occasionally required at special events, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
