    Job Title: Development Associate: Focus on Events & Communications

    Job Overview: The Development Associate will focus on events and communications leading the execution of Elluminate’s annual conference and fundraising events including our Gala Luncheon, program briefings, webinars, parlor meetings, and other initiatives that arise. Additionally, this position holds primary responsibility for the creation, production and dissemination of all external communication pieces including: social media, a regular newsletter, and a growing website. This position will be an excellent opportunity for someone with a communications and program background, who enjoys being part of a team, and is passionate about working on furthering social justice through a Jewish and gender lens.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Development Associate will work under the supervision of the CEO in close collaboration with the Chief Development Officer and responsible for the following:

    Events:

    • Organize Elluminate’s Annual Luncheon - working closely with the Chief Development Officer, CEO and events team, lead the organization's planning and execution of the Gala luncheon:
      • Responsibility for the program, logistics, budget, money report, and operations and liaise with the event planner.
      • Serve as staff liaison to the Gala Luncheon Chairs to support them in their efforts to promote, recruit, and secure sponsorships for the event.
      • Develop a detailed schedule of activities for Gala planning and keep everyone informed of the status of key tasks.
      • Work with staff on developing all branding, communications, materials and swag for the event.
      • Work with the CEO and Co-Chairs to develop and manage the Gala budget.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of Elluminate’s Inaugural Annual two-Day Jewish Women’s Leadership Summit responsible for all aspects of the program, logistics, budget, operations, vendors, recruitment and communications.
    • Seve as the primary staff liaison to the Engagement Committee and work with development staff to execute focused initiatives, including end-of-year fundraising, parlor meetings, and other programs as developed and track outreach and recruitment.
    • Support the Jewish Women’s Leadership Team with logistics for The Collective Leadership Programs two in-person retreats and other network activities as needed.
    • Plan site visits and other immersive experiences for Elluminate donors and volunteers.

    Communications

    • Oversee day-to-day communications work and oversee the communications calendar.
    • Work closely with the Chief Development Officer on fundraising materials and campaigns, including writing, copyediting, designing and distributing external emails and email blasts.
    • Maintain and update website content and design.
    • Create and implement social media strategy, content and posts.
    • Manage Elluminate’s monthly newsletter.
    • Run Elluminate’s monthly webcast and other public Zoom programs.
    • Produce Elluminate marketing and promotional materials including an Annual Report.

    Competencies and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills
    • Documented experience and knowledge of conference production, logistics and organizing
    • Excellence in writing for public media vehicles and two years of experience working on communications
    • Experience working with vendors on the production of printed and web-based communications
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Constant Contact, Canva, and PowerPoint
    • knowledge of GiveSmart and Little Green Light a plus
    • Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends
