    Communications and Research Assistant

    Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

    The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers, seeks a full-time Communications and Research Assistant for its Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program.

    The Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program examines the global state of democracy, conflict, and governance as well as international policy and aid efforts relating to these topics. The Program is looking to hire a communications and research assistant who will (1) help the Program team to bring their writings, podcasts, video, and other forms of output to new audiences across a broad range of media types and formats; and (2) assist senior program team members with research on communications and persuasion across polarized or distrustful societies, as well as other democracy-related issues.

    The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and hold up to two years of previous research experience. Preferred candidates will be fascinated by the new media landscape and interested in continual learning in a fast-changing field about how to communicate effectively with different audiences, using research and testing techniques; developing podcast or video editing skills and/or the ability to use AI tools to assist with creating media products; have strong writing and editing skills; be creative and able to suggest ideas as well as take direction from senior scholars; and enjoy working in a collegial team environment with researchers the U.S. and Europe.

    The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000.
