    Description

    Position Summary

    The Manager of Donor Engagement will support and grow fundraising efforts at Campaign Legal Center (CLC) to ensure the achievement of annual revenue goals and the expansion of CLC’s funding base. This role is responsible for the management of a donor portfolio focused on individual donors and will also have a significant focus on donor stewardship and communications, as well as assisting with grant writing and reporting. The Manager of Donor Engagement will work closely with the Vice President of Development and the Director of Development to build and maintain a sustainable and diverse funding portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities

    Donor Relationships and Stewardship

    • Create donor stewardship and private briefing opportunities for major donors and prospects.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors.

    Donor Cultivation and Solicitation

    • Develop and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects, documenting progress in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
    • Solicit major gifts of $5,000 and above.
    • Collaborate with members of the Development Team to create individual donor goals and strategies.
    • Partner with the Director of Development to support the institutional program with grant proposals and grant reports.

    Development Communications

    • Monitor program team efforts and organizational communications in order to collaborate across departments to create relevant, timely, and donor-centered communications.
    • Coordinate development communications schedules to align with and build upon organizational messaging.

    Prospect Research

    • Conduct prospect research and participate in driving the prospect research process in conjunction with other team members.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
    • Local to Washington DC Metro area preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of fundraising or similar experience, preferably within a mission-driven organization.
    • Proven success in face-to-face solicitations that lead to major gifts from individuals.
    • Demonstrated experience with and interest in grant writing and reporting.
    • Experience with foundation relations.
    • Familiarity with donor database software, such as Raiser’s Edge NXT.
    • Familiarity with best practices in donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
    • Strong communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented
    • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with senior leadership.
    • A deep commitment to CLC’s mission of advancing democracy through law.
