    About ABC:

    Association to Benefit Children (ABC) is dedicated to bringing joy and warmth to disadvantaged children and their families through compassionate, sustainable, comprehensive and integrated services, designed to permanently break the cycles of abuse, neglect, sickness and homelessness.

    ABC's humane and innovative programs include early childhood education, health care services, housing assistance, mental health services, family preservation, crisis intervention, recreational services, job training and employment assistance, therapeutic after school and summer day camp programs, mentoring and legal advocacy.

    Responsibilities:

    The Social Worker will be a part of the School Response Team (SRT) alongside a Program Coordinator and Parent Advocate. The Social Worker will provide mental health assessments, diagnosis, short term counseling, crisis intervention, and workshops to parents and school staff. The SRT is in 5 schools within Manhattan ranging from Elementary Schools to High Schools.

    • Hours- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm onsite; 12 month program.
    • Clinical supervision is provided.

    Requirements:

    • Licensure (LMSW, LCSW, MSW with limited permit) required
    • Experience doing crisis/ER work or clinical background preferred
    • Be a team player who is comfortable managing stressful situations and using more directive family interventions when necessary

    ABC will offer classes to help social workers and mental health counselors prepare for the NYS licensing exams. ABC is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).

    Salary is commensurate with licensure as follows:

    • MSW with limited permit: $48,500/year
    • LMSW: $57,750/year
    • LCSW: $61,500/year
