Since 1979, Tu Casa, Inc. has been a cornerstone of support for victims and children of domestic violence and sexual assault in the San Luis Valley. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we provide comprehensive and vital services across Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Mineral, Rio Grande, and Saguache Counties. We are deeply committed to empowering survivors and creating a safer community.

The Opportunity:

Are you a dynamic and visionary leader passionate about making a tangible impact? Tu Casa, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Executive Director to guide our organization into its next chapter. Reporting directly to our engaged Board of Directors, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of crucial services and fostering a supportive environment for both our clients and our dedicated team. This is a full-time, exempt position based in the beautiful San Luis Valley, Colorado, with some travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

As our Executive Director, you will:

• Strategic Leadership: Oversee the development and execution of our strategic plan, ensuring measurable outcomes and consistent progress towards our goals.
• Program Excellence: Ensure the effective and efficient operation of all Tu Casa programs, maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.
• Team Empowerment: Recruit, hire, and provide inspiring leadership to our administrative and program staff.
• Financial Stewardship: Collaborate closely with the Board Treasurer in developing and monitoring annual budgets and long-range financial projections. You will also be responsible for the fiscal management of current grants and contracts and proactively work to grow and diversify funding and programing.
• Accountability and Transparency: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for the Board of Directors, funding sources, and other stakeholders.
• Human Resources Management: Oversee all aspects of employee and volunteer management, including staffing, compensation, benefits, relations, and professional development.
• Board Engagement: Attend all Board of Director meetings, providing comprehensive reports on agency activities, statistical data, and financial status.
• Policy Development: Collaborate with board committees to develop, review, and update agency policies to ensure best practices.
• Staff Development: Oversee regular staff meetings, in-service trainings, and other job-related professional development opportunities.
• Board Support: Perform other duties as defined and requested by the Board of Directors.
• Community Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with other community agencies, programs, and state coalitions to ensure high-quality services for survivors.
• Collaborative Leadership: Provide leadership within the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and the San Luis Valley Child Advocacy Center Multidisciplinary Team (SLV CAC MDT).
• Direct Client Support: Be able to provide direct client services as needed, particularly during staff shortages or specific needs, which may include shelter management, advocacy, and forensic interviewing.
• Confidentiality: Maintain strict client confidentiality in accordance with Colorado law.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a dynamic leader with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Finance, Human Relations preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working within a domestic violence or sexual assault program, including program management responsibilities.
• Experience in working with clients involved with domestic violence, sexual assault, or other related human services.
• Proven success in directing,securing and increasing funding for a non-profit organization, including grant writing, grant reporting and donor cultivation.
• Exceptional project management skills, with a strong ability to prioritize effectively, and evaluate outcomes.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written communication skills, including experience in grant writing, press releases, and donor communications.
• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals, groups and partners.
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse populations.
• Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and maintain automotive insurance.
• Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. and perform some physical activity as needed.
• Must successfully pass a State of Colorado/FBI Fingerprint Background Check and a State of Colorado Trails Background Check.

• Salary Range: Starting at $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate upon experience and education.
