    Position Summary: The Associate Director works with the Admissions Team to recruit and enroll highly qualified Prep and PREP 9 applicants. The Associate Director is responsible for helping Admissions Officers plan and execute outreach efforts, is a member of the executive admissions committee, and works with the Director and Senior Admissions Officer to plan the recruitment and admission processes.

    The Associate Director reports to the Director of Admissions.

    Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Admissions Team

    • Acquire a strong knowledge base of the unique qualities of the Prep for Prep community: mission, history, student experience, etc.
    • Demonstrate the values of Excellence, Integrity, Commitment, Courage, and Community.
    • Manage Admissions Officers, performing annual performance reviews and making recommendations for individual goals.
    • Plan and execute the Admissions Team's professional development efforts, including the annual kickoff retreat and monthly engagement with partner schools and organizations.
    • Set agenda for a bi-weekly Admissions Team meeting.
    • Meet weekly with the Director.
    • Communicate with Alumni Affairs, Post-Placement, LDO, and Preparatory teams to source volunteers for events, including panels and Open House presentations.
    • Help lead Parent Information sessions and events.
    • Interacts cordially with school leadership and families.
    • Works cooperatively and professionally with colleagues.
    • Represents the Talent Search at All-Staff meetings to communicate the Admissions Team's efforts to the greater Prep for Prep staff.

    Recruiting and Selecting Students

    • Oversees the updating of materials disseminated as part of the recruitment process.
    • Strategize and implement effective and new marketing and recruitment strategies with the Director and the admissions team.
    • Maintain relationships with nominating partners and community organizations.
    • Attend school fairs, neighborhood events, parent meetings, etc., as part of recruitment efforts.
    • Helps monitor recruitment goals and needs.
    • Disseminates information to schools and parents.
    • Reviews candidate folders as part of the Admissions Committee.
    • Serve as Second Reader on Admission Officer files and deliver feedback to Committee members.

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Four-year degree required, advanced degree preferred
    • At least five years of admissions or related experience
    • Experience working in public or charter schools is a plus
    • Background in sourcing or recruiting diverse populations
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and written skills
    • Fluency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps
    • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment
    • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, or Bengali is a plus
    • Experience using Salesforce and Asana is a plus

    The Associate Director of Admissions should be prepared to adjust to some weekend workdays, evening events, and extended hours when necessary.

    All employees must be committed to helping Prep for Prep and the Admissions office achieve its mission. The responsibilities listed above should be seen as a general framework; flexibility and professional growth are critical to the team's accomplishment, and roles should not be seen as fixed. Roles and responsibilities are divided and subject to change at the Directors’ discretion.

    Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
