    Program Overview – Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP):

    SYEP empowers New York City youth through paid summer experiences that combine employment, education, and personal development. Participants ages 14–24 are introduced to the world of work while gaining critical life skills and connecting with mentors who help them explore career pathways.

    Key SYEP Goals:

      • Provide youth with safe, meaningful work experiences
      • Help participants explore careers and understand what it takes to succeed
      • Instill positive work habits and employment-related skills
      • Promote long-term employment and self-sufficiency
      • Increase awareness of higher education and future opportunities
      • Strengthen financial literacy and life readiness

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking dynamic, engaging Workshop Facilitators to help deliver a brand-new SYEP experience for our 14–15-year-old cohort. You will play a key role in shaping early career development by leading workshops that are interactive, informative, and empowering.

    What We’re Looking For:

      • Education: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; High School Diploma/GED required
      • Experience:
      • At least 1 year facilitating engaging workshops for youth or young adults
      • Experience developing or enhancing interactive curriculum
      • Prior exposure to work-readiness programming is a plus
      • Technology Proficiency:
      • Skilled in Zoom, Google Classroom, and Google Suite
      • Bonus if you bring experience with photography, video, or other creative tools
      • Skills & Attributes:
      • Passionate about youth development
      • Organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy
      • Strong interpersonal communicator
      • Creative, resourceful, and team-oriented
      • A sense of humor and a positive, professional attitude

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Facilitate workshops covering topics such as work readiness, financial literacy, team building, time management, and career exploration
      • Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment
      • Customize instruction to meet the diverse needs of participants
      • Build supportive relationships with youth, encouraging growth and participation
      • Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry and reporting
      • Collaborate with the program team and adapt as needed to support overall goals

    Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to read, hear, and type is required for successful job performance.
