    Description

    The Direct Care Workforce (DCW) Strategies Center, led by the National Council on Aging (NCOA) on behalf of the Administration for Community Living, is seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to join our 2025 Technical Assistance (TA) team. SMEs will provide targeted support to states participating in the Direct Care Workforce State Innovation Labs, Peer-Learning Collaboratives (PLCs), self-paced workshops, and national webinar series.

    This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary state teams and national partners to contribute to system-level workforce solutions and share your expertise to address urgent challenges in recruitment, training, and retention of the home- and community-based services (HCBS) direct care workforce.

    Ideal SME Candidates:

    • Deep knowledge of HCBS direct care workforce policy and systems
    • Experience supporting state or cross-agency initiatives (Medicaid, labor, aging, or disability)
    • Skilled in facilitation, strategic planning, and program design
    • Strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills

    Additional Opportunities: SMEs may also be invited to:

    • Present at national conferences and Center Webinar Series
    • Develop publicly available tools or case studies
    • Advise the Center on emerging priorities and promising approaches
