    Description

    About Delivering Good

Delivering Good, Inc. is the charity of choice for new product donations made by hundreds of companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries. Donating new merchandise provides these companies with a simple and effective way to help people in need. Founded 40 years ago, Delivering Good is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that unites retailers, manufacturers, foundations, and individuals to support people affected by poverty and tragedy nationally and abroad. Since 1985, $3 billion of apparel, accessories, shoes, home furnishings, toys, books, and other useful items have been distributed through our network of community partners.

Delivering Good was created from the 2014 merger of Kids in Distressed Situations and Fashion Delivers. In May 2017, the organization rebranded as “Delivering Good” to reflect focused, ongoing support for children and families facing poverty and disaster. The organization is governed by an actively engaged board of directors who are industry leaders in apparel and juvenile products, fashion, shoe, home and related enterprises respectively.

    Position Description

We are seeking a part-time consultant to act as Capacity Building Consultant to serve as the primary point of coordination and program planning for the initiative. • Establish and maintain 1:1 calls/check-ins with the current program partners to assess and build their operational capacities.
    • Develop and regularly update project plans to address each program partner's organizational gaps.
    • Coordinate and provide project management support to ongoing initiatives, including product distribution, volunteer engagement, webinar trainings and best practices convenings, and community partner engagement. Manage and track action items and deliverables across multiple initiatives and working groups.
    • Coordinate and facilitate webinars for program partners to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    • Participate in bi-weekly strategy meetings with the Delivering Good team to align on progress and program goals.
    • Focus on measuring and reporting the program’s outcomes to gauge success and inform future strategies.
    • Set timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure that the program meets its goals throughout the length of the program.
    • Manage service providers, vendors, consultants, and project plans as needed to achieve program goals.

    Program Expansion

    • In collaboration with the Delivering Good team, create a process to expand the capacity building program to communities beyond NYC.
    • Assist in the collection and analysis of data to inform strategies and tactics or increased capacity building outcomes in communities served by the program.
    • Use data-informed strategies to suggest new geographic areas for Delivering Good to explore implementation of the program.
    • Support the process of finding additional funding resources and securing additional funding sources.
    • Develop programmatic budgets and operations to support maintaining the current program and program expansion.

    Qualifications

    • Willing to travel to pilot communities and other regions in the U.S. to measure the project’s progress, meet with other stakeholders involved in the project, and to fulfill other essential functions of the role.
