    Art Exhibit Docent Volunteer

    Qualifications and Training

Calling all art lovers! Each month, different artists display a new exhibition in our WaterFire Arts Center Gallery. We are looking for docents to volunteer who are friendly, outgoing people with excellent communication skills and the ability and desire to work with diverse visitors. All docents receive a training session by staff, so an art background is not necessary..

    Roles and Responsibilities

Docents play an integral role in assisting with security and the preservation of all artwork in the space by reminding visitors not to touch pieces or making sure no pieces leave the space.

    Benefits of Becoming a Docent

Docents participate in satisfying experiences by working with all visitors from children, college students, and community members while they expand their understanding of art and are challenged by new ideas.

    INTRODUCING A BRAND NEW BENEFIT!

Docents are invited to take part in a pre-opening "Meet the Artist"! You'll get the rare chance to get to hear them speak about the art, and you'll get to ask questions about specific pieces. This is a great chance for you to then share your insider knowledge with everyone who comes in!
