    Empower Youth, Protect the Environment & Support Street Children in Malawi

    Modzi Foundation is a grassroots charity organization based in Monkey Bay, Malawi. “Modzi” means “together” reflecting our belief that positive change happens when communities and volunteers come together. Our mission is to empower youth through education and talent development, protect the environment, and support street children and vulnerable populations.

    Volunteer Responsibilities:

    As a volunteer, you may be involved in one or more of the following areas:

    • Teaching basic English or computer skills to youth
    • Assisting in preschools with early childhood development
    • Organizing talent shows, sports, or art workshops to promote youth talents
    • Supporting street children through outreach, meals, or activities
    • Participating in environmental clean-up campaigns (e.g., “Keep Lake Malawi Clean”)
    • Helping distribute learning materials to schools
    • Creating awareness campaigns for education, hygiene, and community development

    Who We’re Looking For

    You don’t need to be an expert — just bring a kind heart and willingness to serve. We welcome:

    • Students, recent graduates, or professionals from any background
    • Passion for working with youth, children, and community projects
    • Flexibility, open-mindedness, and respect for local culture
    • Basic English communication skills

    Bonus skills: Teaching, social work, environmental science, sports coaching, music/art, or media skills are a plus but not required.

    Costs and Support:

    We offer affordable accommodation and can help you plan your stay. While we are not donor-funded, we are committed to ensuring your experience is safe, meaningful, and well-supported we ask all volunteers to make a donation of $20 per day which goes towards water and electricity bills,cleaning ,maintenance and supporting the project
