    Good Day LA Residents,

    We are honored to personally reach out to you on behalf of the Watson Institute with an invitation to partner with The Halo Food Project, in collaboration with Watson Institute, and BMO Fellowship, to host a one-day community-based basecamp event for 75 young, emerging entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers as frontline EJ, Climate, Food, Mobility & Clean-Tech ventures & leaders on June 12, 2025, at The University of Southern California’s Dr. Medicine Crow Bldg. Courtyard.

    The Niles Foundation is seeking community-minded volunteers to support the Climate, Food & Clean Tech Pop-Up—a dynamic event focused on sustainability, food justice, and clean technology innovation.

    Location: University of Southern California (USC), Dr. Medicine Crow Bldg. Courtyard (Formerly VKC)

    Come join us for a summer day filled with exciting discussions and innovations in the fields of climate, food, and clean tech! This event will bring together experts, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts to explore sustainable solutions for a better California.

    Volunteer Roles Include:

    • Event Setup & Breakdown: Help with tents, tables, signage, and materials.
    • Guest Engagement: Greet attendees, guide them through exhibits, and share information about our mission.
    • Vendor & Partner Support: Assist local food, climate, and tech partners with logistics and coordination.
    • Sustainability Ambassadors: Promote eco-friendly practices like recycling, composting, and zero-waste initiatives.
    • Guest & Event Activities: Support interactive stations and educational games for kids and families.

    What You’ll Experience:

    • Hands-on experience in community organizing and sustainability
    • Networking with local leaders in food justice and clean tech
    • A fun, purpose-driven day with like-minded changemakers!
    • Meals & snacks will be provided

    ✅ Volunteer Requirements

    1. Age Requirement:
      • Volunteers must be 18 years or older
    2. Availability:
      • Must be available for a minimum 4-hour shift on the event day (June 12, 2025)
      • Must attend a brief virtual or in-person orientation before the event
    3. Physical Ability:
      • Comfortable with standing, walking, or light lifting (for setup/breakdown roles)
      • Accommodations can be made—please let us know in advance
    4. Communication Skills:
      • Friendly, approachable, and able to engage with diverse community members
      • Willing to follow instructions and work as part of a team
    5. Commitment to the Mission:
      • Passionate about climate justice, food equity, clean tech, or community empowerment
      • Open to learning and supporting a diverse, inclusive environment
