About Us:
Dulce Vida Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving California and Mexico. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused and abandoned dogs and cats. We also provide spay/neuter services and advocate for responsible pet ownership through community outreach and education.
Role Summary:
Adoption events are where stories begin—where rescued animals meet their future families. As an Event Volunteer & Coordinator, you'll play a key role in making these moments happen. You'll help organize and run adoption and community events that are welcoming, efficient, and heartwarming. From managing setup and volunteer teams to ensuring the animals’ safety and comfort, you’ll help create a smooth, positive experience for everyone involved.
You will:
- Plan and coordinate adoption and community events
- Manage logistics including setup, supplies, and animal handling zones
- Supervise and support volunteers before and during events
- Communicate with adopters, visitors, and rescue staff on-site
- Ensure the event runs safely, smoothly, and with lots of heart
What We’re Looking For:
- Great organizational and communication skills
- Comfort working with animals and people alike
- A calm, solutions-oriented mindset in busy environments
- Event planning experience is a plus, but not required
