    Join the Fight Against Fraud : Volunteer with the Oregon DOJ Consumer Protection Hotline!

    Are you passionate about helping others and protecting your community from scams? The Oregon Attorney General’s Consumer Advocate Program (CAP) is looking for dedicated volunteers to serve on the Consumer Protection Hotline: the first line of defense against fraud and deceptive practices.

    As a CAP volunteer, you’ll:

      • Be the first point of contact for consumers across Oregon.
      • Educate callers about fraud, scams, and deceptive business practices.
      • Connect people with trusted DOJ resources and support.

    You’ll be a vital part of the Financial Fraud/Consumer Protection Section (FF/CP), enforcing the Oregon Unlawful Trade Practices Act and standing up for consumer rights.

    Hotline Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

    Shifts available:

      • Morning: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
      • Afternoon: 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
      • We’re especially in need of Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings.

    Location:

    All calls are answered onsite at: 2250 McGilchrist St. SE, Salem, OR 97302
