    Description

Volunteer Board Member Opportunity - Help Shape the Future of Dysautonomia Support

    About WTFisDys

Founded in August 2024, WTFisDys is a rapidly growing nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of those impacted by dysautonomia. With a community of over 100 members and programs that include peer support groups (co-facilitated by an LCSW), caregiver support sessions, an active Discord community with book clubs and interactive events, and adaptive movement classes, we are redefining what it means to connect, support, and empower.

    The Role

We are seeking a passionate volunteer board member to guide our strategic direction and help us scale our impact. As part of the board, you will collaborate in shaping policies, strategizing our growth, and ensuring our initiatives remain both innovative and true to our mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Leadership: Provide input on long-term planning and help steer our organization through its next phase of growth.
    • Governance & Oversight: Participate in regular board meetings, contribute to policy development, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
    • Community Ambassadorship: Represent WTFisDys in professional networks and at community events, sharing our story and vision.
    • Collaboration & Innovation: Work alongside fellow board members, leveraging your expertise to refine existing programs and explore new opportunities.

    Who We're Looking For

    • Experience with Dysautonomia/Chronic Illness: While ideal candidates are familiar with dysautonomia (or directly impacted by it), we also welcome those with broader experience in chronic illness management.
    • Healthcare Professionals & Advocates: Healthcare-adjacent professionals are highly encouraged, but we are equally interested in individuals with lived experience who are passionate about community support.
    • Exceptional Communicators: Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit are essential for effective board engagement.
    • Visionary Leaders: A commitment to advancing our mission and the capacity to contribute strategic insights that drive meaningful change.

    Why Join Our Board?

By joining our board at this pivotal stage, you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of individuals navigating dysautonomia. Your leadership will directly influence our growth, deepen our support network, and help transform isolated challenges into a vibrant, empowering community.

    Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re inspired by our mission and ready to bring your expertise, passion, and vision to WTFisDys, we’d love to hear from you!
