    Summer Programme 2025 in Mongolia

Altai Blue Horizon Summer Programme 2025

    đź“… Dates: 2nd June to 9th July 2025

📍 Location: Bayan-Ulgii Province, Western Mongolia

    Programme Overview:

The Altai Blue Horizon Summer Programme offers a unique opportunity to support education in one of Mongolia's most remote regions. The programme provides free English and Mongolian classes, workshops, and activities to 240 children from local public schools. Our goal is to bridge the educational gap during the long summer break, giving students a safe space to learn, grow, and explore new ideas.

    Volunteer Responsibilities:

    • Teaching English or Mongolian: Lead interactive lessons that build language skills and confidence.
    • Organising Workshops: Facilitate activities in arts, crafts, sports, and creative learning.
    • Supporting Local Teachers: Collaborate with staff to develop lesson plans and share teaching strategies.
    • Engaging with Students: Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all children can thrive.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
    • Language Skills: C1 level English required for international volunteers. Native Mongolian for local volunteers; English proficiency is a plus.
    • Cultural Sensitivity: Openness to learning about Kazakh-Mongolian culture and respect for local traditions.
    • Adaptability: Comfortable with rural living conditions and limited modern conveniences.
    • Experience: Teaching or youth work experience is helpful but not mandatory.

    What We Offer:

    • Free Accommodation and Meals: Stay with local host families and experience authentic Kazakh-Mongolian hospitality.
    • Comprehensive Orientation: Get familiar with your role, the programme schedule, and local culture.
    • On-the-Ground Support: Assistance with visa and immigration matters, teaching resources, and emergency support.

    Why Join Us?

Volunteering with Altai Blue Horizon is more than teaching—it’s about making a lasting impact, gaining new experiences, and building connections with a vibrant community. Volunteers only need to cover travel and visa costs; everything else is provided.
