    Description

As our Video Editor, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing video content for social media, campaigns, educational materials, and promotional efforts. You will collaborate with the social media and marketing teams to produce engaging, high-quality videos that amplify our message. You will also need to participate in a monthly meeting. We may meet more than once a month in certain circumstances. If you can't join for whatever reason, please email the head, Isaac Tate, about it in advance. You are not expected to do all of these. Different video editors will do different things, depending on which are already being done.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Video Editing & Production

    • Edit short-form and long-form video content for social media, YouTube, and campaigns.
    • Cut, splice, and arrange raw footage into compelling stories.
    • Add captions, transitions, animations, and effects to enhance engagement.

    Content Creation & Storytelling

    • Help develop video concepts, scripts, and storyboards for PPI’s initiatives.
    • Transform complex climate issues into engaging, visually appealing videos.
    • Maintain a consistent brand style, tone, and messaging in all videos.

    Optimization & Distribution

    • Format videos for various platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook).
    • Ensure videos are optimized for engagement, reach, and accessibility.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to align with content strategies.

    Graphics & Effects

    • Create intro/outro animations, lower-thirds, and visual effects to enhance video quality.
    • Edit interviews, testimonials, and event footage into professional videos.
    • Assist in the creation of motion graphics, infographics, and visual storytelling elements.
