Our Walking for Justice project aims to promote social justice and peacebuilding through thematic free walking tours, while also empowering economically youth and women from vulnerable communities. We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals who are passionate about social justice issues and want to make a positive impact in their community.
As a Walking Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading engaging and informative walking tours to different attractions that focus on social justice issues, such as gender equality, racial justice, LGBTQ rights, or environmental justice. You will be provided with training and support to develop your knowledge and skills in these areas, and to create a tour that is informative, interactive and engaging for visitors.
You will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service to ensure that visitors have a positive experience and are inspired to take action towards creating a more just and equitable society. You will be paid based on the tips received from the people taking the tours.
Qualifications:
-Passion for social justice issues and a desire to make a positive impact in your community
-Knowledge of the history and current realities of social justice issues in your community
-Ability to communicate effectively and engage with visitors from diverse backgrounds
-Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)
-Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
-Must be from a vulnerable community, particularly women and youth
