    Description

As our Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for creating, curating, and managing content across multiple social media platforms. Your goal is to increase engagement, grow our audience, and inspire action towards climate justice and sustainability. You will also need to participate in a monthly meeting. We may meet more than once a month in certain circumstances. If you can't join for whatever reason, please email the head, Isaac Tate, about it in advance. You are not expected to do all of these. Different social media managers will do different things, depending on which are already being done.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Content Creation & Management

    • Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with PPI’s mission and goals.
    • Create engaging, educational, and visually appealing content (graphics, videos, infographics, reels, and posts) for platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
    • Write compelling captions, blog excerpts, and calls-to-action that encourage interaction and activism.
    • Schedule and publish content using social media management tools.

    Community Engagement

    • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster conversations.
    • Engage with environmental organizations, activists, and influencers to expand PPI’s reach.
    • Organize and run social media campaigns, challenges, and collaborations to boost awareness.

    Analytics & Growth Strategy

    • Track and analyze social media performance metrics (engagement rates, follower growth, click-through rates).
    • Identify trends, audience preferences, and areas for improvement based on insights.
    • Optimize content strategies to increase reach, impact, and audience retention.

    Advocacy & Awareness Campaigns

    • Collaborate with the team to create climate awareness campaigns and initiatives.
    • Stay updated on climate news, policies, and global movements to share relevant information.
    • Work on storytelling projects that highlight climate solutions and urgent environmental issues.
