    Join our (virtual) Board as Treasurer

    Are you looking for a meaningful way to put your skills and passion to work? Pagus: Africa invites you to join our Board of Directors and help shape a brighter future for youth in Ghana. Our mission is to empower young people to become leaders in their communities through a holistic and sustainable model of support—academic, personal, and social.

    We are currently seeking a new board member with strengths in finance and/or fundraising. We value individuals who are aligned with our mission and bring diverse perspectives and rich experiences to our work.

    About Pagus: Africa

    Our approach is rigorous, hands-on, and built to last. Scholars supported by Pagus not only thrive in their own education and development—they also go on to lead projects that uplift their communities.

    Members of the Board provide strategic leadership and governance, partnering closely with the Executive Director and fellow members to guide the organization’s direction and impact.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Serving as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director as the strategic plan is developed and implemented
    • Reviewing and approving the annual budget and financial strategies
    • Monitoring organizational performance and impact
    • Preparing for and participating in board and committee meetings
    • Contributing to board recruitment and onboarding
    • Serving on committees or special initiatives
    • Acting as an ambassador for Pagus with stakeholders, donors, and partners
    • Supporting a commitment to diversity in board and staff that reflects the communities we serve

    Expectations:

    • Attend board and committee meetings (virtual or in-person as agreed)
    • Contribute 4–6 hours per month through active participation
    • Fulfill committee assignments and special projects as needed
    • Consider Pagus: Africa one of your top three philanthropic priorities by:
      • Making an annual financial contribution that reflects your commitment, and/or
      • Leveraging your network to help raise funds from individuals or institutions aligned with our mission

    Qualifications:

    This is an extraordinary opportunity for someone passionate about youth empowerment and community-driven change. Ideal candidates will bring:

    • Experience in or willingness to grow into a board leadership role
    • Skills or interest in nonprofit finance, fundraising, or governance
    • A collaborative spirit and a commitment to making a difference

    Note: This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
