    About STEM Canada:

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in advanced STEM-based educational curricula that emphasize the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school, with a mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, preparing students for globally competitive results.

    Position Overview:

    The Sports Medicine Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching kinesiology, athletic training principles, and methods for injury prevention and recovery.

    Location: Remote

    Start Time: Jan 6, 2025

    Time Commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Simulation Support: Assist in conducting virtual simulations focused on sports injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and athlete performance optimization.
      • Teaching Support: Facilitate discussions, and group activities, and assist with course materials related to kinesiology, sports therapy, and athletic performance.
      • Grading: Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain student records.
      • Student Assistance: Provide clarification and support for students’ understanding of key concepts in sports medicine and kinesiology.
      • Resource Development: Help develop educational materials, including injury management case studies and performance enhancement protocols.

    Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or a related field; graduate students preferred.
      • Strong understanding of sports therapy techniques, injury prevention, and athletic training principles.
      • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
      • Ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible and practical manner.
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
