About Us
At the Justice & Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco (JDC), we are committed to increasing access to justice and protecting the due process rights of low-income and unrepresented immigrants facing deportation. Our services aim to make a positive impact on individuals and families, and we are looking for a dedicated Spanish interpreters to assist our attorneys with phone consultations.
Volunteer Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and fluent Spanish-speaking volunteers to assist with phone consultations on Mondays. As a volunteer interpreter, you will bridge the language gap between Spanish-speaking individuals and our team, ensuring effective communication and access to essential services.
Responsibilities
- Provide interpretation during phone consultations between clients and our attorneys.
- Facilitate clear, accurate, and culturally sensitive communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Ensure that clients' questions and concerns are communicated effectively.
Requirements
- Fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written).
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to remain neutral and impartial during interpretations.
