    At the Justice & Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco (JDC), we are committed to increasing access to justice and protecting the due process rights of low-income and unrepresented immigrants facing deportation. Our services aim to make a positive impact on individuals and families, and we are looking for a dedicated Spanish interpreters to assist our attorneys with phone consultations.

    Volunteer Opportunity

    We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and fluent Spanish-speaking volunteers to assist with phone consultations on Mondays. As a volunteer interpreter, you will bridge the language gap between Spanish-speaking individuals and our team, ensuring effective communication and access to essential services.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide interpretation during phone consultations between clients and our attorneys.
    • Facilitate clear, accurate, and culturally sensitive communication.
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
    • Ensure that clients' questions and concerns are communicated effectively.

    Requirements

    • Fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written).
    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • Excellent communication and listening skills.
    • Ability to remain neutral and impartial during interpretations.
