    Associates are expected to put in a minimum of 5 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours.

    SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Education Content Manager, the Education Associate: Education Content Creator is responsible for supporting the Education Group by researching and writing industry-related content that increases public awareness about water contamination. He/she will work closely with the WEM Education Content Manager, Curriculum Development team, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve roadblocks/issues, and grow STW™’s Water Education Materials (WEM) Education Programs.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Research topics on water education topics using current research and primary sources.
    • Write educational content on water education topics for our website.
    • Catalog references and fact-check sources.
    • Update content on the website when needed.
    • Monitor webpages for broken and error links.
    • Assist the Education Content Manager in brainstorming content ideas and developing strategies to execute.
    • Deliver project updates at Education Group meetings.
    • Support the program development progress that aligns with Save the Water’s mission of educating the public about world water issues.
    • Work collaboratively with the team members in the Water Education Materials (WEM) team.
    • Increasing SEO of our website using keywords developed by our Web Analysts.
    • Be willing to attend virtual meetings in the EST timezone (GMT -4:00) and respond to emails within 24 hours

    EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Education, STEM field, or similar, with experience in research methods (APA style) and data analysis. Equivalencies of education and experience may also be considered.
    • Excellent content writing skills (grammar, punctuation, etc.).
    • Background in STEM fields (e.g. Environmental Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or other related fields).
    • Minimum one year of applied experience in research and/or evaluation through school or professional work, preferably in an academic environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
    • Effective oral communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with staff.
    • Innovative thinker who is passionate about our cause.
    • Familiar with current school-age trends.
    • Experience using Google product applications or GSuite.

    PREFERRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM field, or similar.
    • Knowledge in Water Science, Environmental Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
    • Research methodologies and writing.
    • Previous laboratory experience in academic/industrial research.
    • Graphic design skills preferred.
    • Background in STEM education as an instructor or tutor
