Are you passionate about health equity and want to work towards eliminating disparities? If so, NAEHD might be looking for you!

About NAEHD: The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) is a newly established organization with a mission to support and empower individuals, healthcare professionals, and decision makers through research, education, and advocacy efforts to eliminate health disparities in all communities. NAEHD aims to serve as a collective voice for all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone with a vested interest has a seat at the table and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our mission in an effort to end health disparities.

About the Public Member’s role: The purpose of this role is to bring a valuable perspective from the non-profit sector and the community being served to ensure the organization remains relevant and mission focused.

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Provide feedback and insights on the organization’s programs and initiatives.
      • Advocate for the organization within personal and professional networks.
      • Participate in board discussions and contribute to strategic planning.
      • Offer expertise based on experience in the non-profit sector and/or any community work.
      • Collaborate with Founder/CEO to identify organizational best practices and stay up to date on industry trends.

Time Commitment: The expectation is that the Public Member will commit at least 5 hours a month while the organization is still growing. The Public Member will be expected to attend required board meetings, and other external events representing the organization. As NAEHD develops, the Public Member may be occasionally expected to provide additional support beyond the 5-hour monthly commitment to the Founder/CEO.

    Ideal Qualifications:

    • A commitment to the mission of eliminating health disparities.
    • Experience working or serving in the non-profit sector (required).
    • Familiarity or previous experience in serving on a non-profit board.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with board members, staff, leadership, and stakeholders to advance the mission.
    • Experience in project management is a plus

NAEHD is committed to building a leadership team that reflects the diverse communities we aim to serve as we grow. We strongly encourage applications from individuals who bring unique perspectives and lived experiences, particularly those from historically marginalized backgrounds.
