    Description

    Social Media Coordinator

    The Social Media Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing and enhancing SILO²'s online presence and engagement through its social media platforms. This role is ideal for an experienced communications or marketing professional passionate about driving systemic innovation, fostering community resilience, and preventing violence through impactful digital storytelling and audience engagement.

    Collaborating closely with the Content Editor, Advisor for Communications, and Design & Digital Media Coordinator, the Social Media Coordinator ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality, strategic content aligned with SILO²’s mission.

    This position would be creating our exciting new social media strategy under the leadership and mentoring of the Advisor for Communications. Our coordinator would be immediately engaged in high-level networks and meetings to build out brand promotion in events such as workshops for tribal health organizations in Alaska, a large Summit with strong attendance, and promote SILO²’s involvement in local festivals delivering harm reduction and resiliency education.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and regularly update SILO²’s social media channels, ensuring content aligns with organizational goals and strategy
    • Collaborate with the Content Editor to develop engaging, impactful, and mission-driven content tailored for diverse social media platforms
    • Coordinate with the Advisor for Communications to ensure messaging is strategic, cohesive, relevant, and reflective of SILO²’s brand and narrative
    • Work closely with the Design & Digital Media Coordinator to integrate visually appealing multimedia elements into content plans
    • Analyze performance metrics and use insights to optimize content strategies, enhance audience growth, and increase user engagement
    • Foster community interaction and respond promptly to comments, messages, and inquiries, reflecting SILO²'s dedication to proactive community engagement
    • Monitor trends in social media and digital communications, proactively recommending new strategies or platforms to enhance SILO²’s outreach and impact
    • Provide succinct, relevant reports to the Executive Chair and work with the Executive Assistant to the Board of Directors to fulfill Board information requests

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

    Knowledge

    • Social media platform dynamics (e.g., Bluesky, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok)
    • Principles of strategic communication, digital marketing, and branding
    • Awareness of operations, analytics, and social media metrics interpretation using platforms like HootSuite or Sprout Social
    • University classes in communications and marketing or professional training in social media analytics

    Skills

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication tailored for digital platforms
    • Content creation and social media management
    • Strategic planning and execution for digital engagement
    • Collaborative teamwork and cross-departmental coordination
