    Description

    The Treasurer plays a vital role in the governance and financial stewardship of the La Famille Foundation. As a member of the Board of Directors, the Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s financial health, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting, and guiding strategic financial decision-making. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong financial management experience and a commitment to supporting the Foundation’s mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Fundraising:
      • Spear head fundraising efforts for the Foundation
      • Financial Reporting:
      • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to the Board of Directors, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses, helping to guide the Board’s decision-making.
      • Budget Oversight:
      • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Foundation’s annual budget. Work closely with the Board President to identify financial opportunities, address risks, and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to support the Foundation’s strategic goals.
      • Financial Compliance:
      • Ensure that the Foundation adheres to all financial regulations and compliance standards.
      • Financial Planning and Strategy:
      • Contribute to long-term financial planning and sustainability efforts by providing financial insights and recommendations that align with the Foundation’s mission and goals. Actively participate in the development of fundraising strategies and financial growth initiatives.
      • Collaboration:
      • Assist in the preparation of financial policies and procedures to ensure sound fiscal governance.

    Qualifications:

      • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
      • Familiarity with nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.
      • Ability to work collaboratively with other board members, staff, and stakeholders.
      • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex financial data to a diverse audience.

    Commitment:

    This is not a paid position. This is a volunteer position requiring attendance at regular board meetings (typically twice a quarter), as well as additional time commitment for financial oversight duties, including budget planning and report preparation.
