HEEDING GOD’S CALL TO END GUN VIOLENCE

Heeding God’s Call to End Gun Violence is a faith-based movement working to prevent gun violence. We unite people of faith in the sacred responsibility to protect our brothers and sisters. We provide support and resources for faith communities to form multi-racial, ecumenical, and interfaith partnerships to work together to prevent gun violence by deterring the purchase of illegal handguns and their trafficking on the streets. We serve as a connection point for congregations and partnerships to unite with and learn from each other to support gun violence prevention organizations and other efforts already in place.

We have active programs that include displays of Memorial to the Lost tee-shirts honoring community members taken by gun violence, bringing faith communities together to hold community educational End Gun Violence Days, and promoting legislative advocacy by conducting letter-writing campaigns to state and federal legislators.

We have active supporters who engage with us across Pennsylvania, and we are seeking to develop engagement on a broader level.
