    Organizing & Sorting Donations for Distribution

    "At CityTeam we have Neighborhood outreach programs that relieve challenges that low-income families face to put food on the table and make ends meet".

    Every Wednesday we give out items for FREE at our thrift store. Those who need clothing, food and baby items (clothing, formula, diapers, footwear, etc.) are welcome to shop for free!

    This is where you are needed. Our programs are able to function due to the great help of volunteers. Volunteers help sort items and make sure everything is in order for the programs to run on Wednesday.

    This work is fulfilling, because you know that you have affected someone's life in a positive way by providing for their immediate needs!

    Community Service: You can complete community service at our organization. Please see details below.

    • Sort and hang Clothing for Adults (Men Women), Children and babies
    • Sort and arrange sneakers/shoes
    • Sort and organize diapers, wipes, formula, strollers, etc.
    • Sort and organize Household items, plates, small appliances, knick knacks and other items
    • Sort, arrange, and check dates on food pantry items (canned food, cereal, rice, beans, etc.).
    • Clean the space and arrange chairs where customers will be seated while waiting to shop

    Check-In

    Volunteers will check-in at the front lobby

    If you feel sick, have a fever or cold symptoms, we ask that you please stay at home that day.

    Requirements:

    • Volunteers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a chaperone/guardian who is over 18.
    • Please do not bring valuables. We do not have a secure place for volunteers to leave belongings
    • Please do not wear open-toed shoes, dress in a non-provocative manner and comfortably.
    • Please check your email after registering for updates
    • Please have fun! We are helping to bring needed items to our clients and we want it to be a safe yet enjoyable time!

    Volunteers will check-in in the front lobby.

    Community Service: You can complete community service at our organization.

    • You must bring paperwork with you each time you volunteer and have it signed 
    • If you do not have paperwork YOU are responsible for keeping track of your hours and asking for a letter or other documentation.
    • If you have community service hours - Please be sure to let the volunteer coordinator know you have hours to complete and if you need documentation after you complete your service. 
    • Remember: YOU are responsible for keeping track of your days/hours. We will check to make sure the hours match our records
