    Description

    Work directly during early (exciting) launch period with Jim Clark, a globally recognized systems thinker, social entrepreneur, and strategist known for founding multiple impact-focused organizations and for leading efforts at the intersection of many social impact fields, including technology, governance, and civilizational change (see http://linkedin.com/in/jamesclark5 )

    Jim is the founder of:

    • The Bridge Era Institute (www.bridgeerainstitute.org)– a newly launching think tank addressing systemic breakdown and possible strategies to avoid civilizational collapse in the coming years.
    • The Future of Employment & Income Institute (www.employmentandincome.org)– The Bridge Era Institute's first major initiative, focused in a very rigorous way on what's going to happen to all of our jobs in the age of AI... and what policies and legislation might be needed, and...
    • Author of a forthcoming book synthesizing decades of frameworks on history, innovation, and social change in our time of seeming disequilibrium.

    Time Commitment:

    10–15 hours per week, flexible and remote. Ideal for graduate students, AI-fluent professionals, or future-oriented individuals looking to support visionary work.

    Core Responsibilities:

    Executive/Project Support

    • Track and organize key priorities across multiple initiatives and communications
    • Schedule meetings, coordinate follow-ups, maintain lightweight task tracking
    • Help keep on top of task and responsibilities across various projects

    Writing & Research

    • Draft and refine short briefs, summaries, outreach emails, and presentation notes
    • Conduct targeted research at times to provide deeper context or background information before action is taken.
    • Support preparation of materials for events, roundtables, and partnerships

    AI-Aware Support

    • Help track AI-relevant developments that intersect with the Institute's mission
    • Help explore (working with Jim) new methodologies to use to help meet the overall goals

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    • Exceptionally organized, reliable, and self-managing
    • Strong written communication, editing, and synthesis skills
    • Passion for systems thinking and societal transformation
    • Proficiency or familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) – or a quick learner
    • Flexible thinker with high intellectual curiosity and discretion
    • Scheduling flexibility to meet once or perhaps twice a week with Jim during usual work hours (even if other work time is more flexible)
