Advancing Communities for Equity

Advancing Communities for Equity consults with systems, organizations, and leaders to develop and implement transformative policies and initiatives. Our name articulates our purpose: growth, partnership, and outcomes.

We work in collaboration to design and implement strategies that optimize outcomes for all, prioritizing:

• Anti-racism as a value, utilized as a lens in all we do, informing our priorities 
• Community-informed solutions, centering lived experiences, addressing systemic barriers
• Data and research that leverage existing policy in the development of strategy

ADVANCING COMMUNITIES FOR EQUITY SUPPORTS ORGANIZATIONS AND EARLY CHILDHOOD NETWORKS TO:

• Identify root causes for challenging problems through stakeholder engagement and policy scans
• Research best practices and exemplars that can inform a solution set
• Engage the community in charting a path forward
• Develop strategies that will be effective and lead to desired outcomes.
• Support the development of grant programs and RFP processes

We immerse ourselves in understanding the issues and design solutions that will advance outcomes.

We have worked closely with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Jefferson Ready Start Network, Agenda for Children, Lafayette Ready Start.

PARTICULAR CHALLENGES THAT WE HAVE HELPED TO ADDRESS:

• Increasing Latino families’ access to early childhood learning opportunities
• Understanding how systems engage parent and working towards increased decision-making and power
• Develop retention strategies for the early childhood workforce
• Identifying policy that would improve child care for families working nontraditional hour
• Managing and administrating resources for grant programs
• Helping to identify new partners through RFP processes
