    The City of Chicago Law Department's Affirmative Litigation Division investigates corporate misconduct and, where appropriate, files public-interest litigation enforcing ordinances that prohibit unfair or deceptive practices. The Division also challenges or supports actions by the federal government that affect the City and its residents by commenting on proposed federal rules, suing the federal government, and submitting amicus briefs in third-party lawsuits.
