About Us
Since its founding in 1947, the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University has been the premier research institute on human sexuality and relationships and a trusted source for evidence-based information on critical issues in sex, sexuality, relationships, gender, and reproduction. The Kinsey Institute's mission is to foster and promote a greater understanding of human sexuality and relationships through research, outreach, education, and historical preservation. A celebrated institution at Indiana University, the Kinsey Institute's interdisciplinary research program includes multiple laboratories and centers that integrate scholarly fields across the social and behavioral sciences. The Kinsey Institute Library & Special Collections encompass millions of items spanning over 2,000 years of human history and are a destination research collection for scholars and students. Kinsey Institute outreach includes traveling art exhibitions, public lectures, and a continuing education program.
