    The Choice is employing a highly exciting opportunity with a renowned educational institution. This museum opened in 2016, with an outpouring of support, and continues to be one of the most highly visited historical and cultural museums in Washington, DC and in the United States.

    The Data Specialist will report to the Deputy Director, Advancement Strategic Operations and will be responsible for providing support to the Membership program of the Advancement Department This role will also work closely with the Advancement Department, the Office of the Director, the Office of Curatorial Affairs and External Affairs ,and on occasion, other Membership personnel.

    Job Duties will include:

    • Utilize fundraising databases to input and analyze data, run reports and manage data entry
    • Create and run reports on membership performance using various tools(e.g. Blackbaud Research Point, PANDA, Luminate, Salesforce)
    • Clean and update data across platforms for maximum use and effective communications
    • Enter relationship management data in databases for effective communications (i.e. event participation, communications, interests, etc.)
    • Identify members for enhanced giving (annual fund, major gifts, and gift planning)
    • Develop reports and track status of contacts and follow up actions
    • Develop, edit and communicate Membership processes and procedures, including request forms and standard operating procedures
    • Develop, edit and implement website updates specifically for the Advancement/Membership Department
    • Provide administrative support as needed

    Skills Required:

    • Technical knowledge of and skilled in the use of relational databases
    • Expertise in Excel
    • Experienced with Luminate/Convio database
    • Experienced with Salesforce
    • Creating and developing reports based on database exports
    • Knowledge in HTML and other web page development software
    • Proficient in the use of a compute rand the use of MS Word, Outlook and Excel
    • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    • The ability to take initiative, work independently and resolve problems diplomatically
    • Ability to multi-task

    Candidates must be fully available for an in-person role and able to commute to downtown DC Monday-Friday. Occasional attendance for museum events may also be required. This position is an open-ended contract opportunity, and will be an hourly position.
