Abortion Positive Social Media/PR Intern

Position Summary

Abortion Positivity Project works to spread abortion positive messaging through the media channels that have people’s attention including social media and podcasts. We are seeking an intern to support our influencer and podcast outreach efforts. The Social Media/PR Intern will play a key role in identifying, researching, and connecting with creators and podcasters to help build strategic partnerships and increase the visibility of abortion-positive content.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify values-aligned creators, influencers, and podcast hosts for potential collaborations
• Assist in the development of outreach strategies, including studying effective outreach techniques
• Draft, edit, and personalize outreach messages, media kits, and collaboration proposals
• Maintain and update influencer and podcast contact lists
• Track outreach efforts, follow-ups, and responses in an organized system
• Collaborate to align outreach with current campaigns and messaging goals
• Stay up-to-date on trends in influencer marketing, podcasting, and abortion-related content
• Ensure all outreach aligns with the organization's tone, mission, and commitment to abortion positive language

Qualifications

• Strong interest in abortion, social media culture, and public communications
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Experience with TikTok, Instagram and podcast ecosystems (as a user, creator, or fan)
• Highly organized and self-motivated with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable taking initiative and working independently
• Open and confident in discussing abortion using abortion positive language.

Compensation/Expectations

• This internship will last from June through August.
• Interns are expected to work 10-15 hours per week.
• Weekly professional training in various non-profit fields.
• College credit or a small stipend are available
