    DATA INTERN

    Are you interested in working with a dynamic non-profit that works to address social, racial, economic, and environmental injustice in the United States?

    Are you interested in learning more and gaining experience with data entry and analysis?

    Roots of Success (RoS) is an empowering environmental literacy and job training program that

    prepares youth and adults with barriers to employment to access jobs and career pathways in

    environmental fields and to improve environmental and social conditions in their communities.

    The program is centered around a federally registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship and

    Pre-Apprenticeship program and 10-module course. Roots of Success is offered in prisons, jails, juvenile facilities, job training programs, reentry programs, high schools, youth programs, adult schools and other workforce and education settings throughout the United States. Since 2009, the program has been offered in over 600 programs in 40 states and over 26,000 youth and adults have gone through the program; more than 12,000 youth and adults took the course while incarcerated.

    Timeline: 10-15 hours per week per semester.

    This internship will focus on entering and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data Roots of Success instructors, students, and graduates. Specifically, the intern will:

    • Carefully transcribe handwritten surveys into a Google Form
    • Organize and file survey pdfs in Google Drive
    • Work with RoS staff to analyze data

    Qualifications

    • Interest in and commitment to social and environmental justice
    • Very detail oriented
    • Familiarity with Google Forms and Google Sheets
    • Ability to work remotely
