    Position Description

    This is a half-time (.50 FTE - 20 hours per week) position. Applicants must live in the Portland Metro Area.

    Location: Remote with some presence at HCAO’s office, 1443 SE 122nd Av, Portland OR 97233

    Hours: Flexible per day/week (typically between 9AM and 5PM), some weekend work (rarely), some evening work for zoom meetings

    Hourly wage: $24 (this rate includes a healthcare stipend)

    Required Experience and/or Qualifications

    • Organizing experience – community, field, labor, campus or political
    • Office support experience
    • Database or CRM experience – NGP VAN, EveryAction, NationBuilder, etc.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to stay organized and effective while working on multiple projects simultaneously
    • The ability to work independently or as part of a team

    Job Description

    Volunteer Coordination

    • Recruit, coordinate, and manage volunteers for events/outreach purposes
    • Collect, enter, track and report on information related to volunteers
    • Work with lead organizer on new and existing initiatives
    • Regular communication with chapter leaders as needed

    Outreach Coordination

    • Assist and support HCAO Chapter Chairs and chapter activities
    • Assisting with development and support of new/emerging chapters
    • Update individual/organizational member records pulling reports as needed

    Data & Document-related Assistance

    • Assist operations director with transition to new database
    • Data entry and acknowledgement processing as needed
    • Develop/update database queries and/or reports as needed
    • Assist with database maintenance as needed

    Communications Assistance

    • Maintain and update contact lists including regular updating of e-mail lists
    • Assist with monthly newsletter preparation and disbursement
    • Assist with outgoing correspondence including fundraising messaging and mass email
    • Support website updates together with other staff members and volunteers

    Administrative Tasks

    • Responding to emails received at
    • office@hcao.org and info@hcao.org accounts
    • Assist HCAO’s Operations Director, Board, Staff and Consultants
    • Respond to general inquiries
    • Attend weekly staff meetings

    Event & Meeting Support Assistance

    • Assist with organizing and event preparation as needed
    • Prepare and package materials for meetings and/or events
    • Attend events and assist as needed
