    Description

    Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides home delivered medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other life challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

    Food & Friends seeks a Data Operations Analyst to coordinate data analysis and reporting for its programmatic, fundraising, and communications divisions. Reporting to the Systems and Data Operations Director, the Analyst will:

    • Compile and analyze client, program, fundraising, and communications data from multiple databases to inform strategic decision making;
    • Use data visualization software (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) to create reports and dashboards;
    • Design and run complex database queries and exports to generate recurring and ad hoc reports;
    • Develop evaluation frameworks to assess the efficacy and reach of Food & Friends’ services;
    • Support grant writing initiatives through data analysis, statistical breakdowns, and narrative summaries;
    • Utilize survey development programs (e.g. Qualtrics, Microsoft forms) to design and implement appropriate survey tools for the organization; and
    • Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security across all systems and departments.

    This is an outstanding opportunity for a data-driven professional to make a solid contribution to one of the region’s leading nonprofit organizations. Must be willing to work in a traditional office environment.

    The successful candidate will have a BA/BS and at least three years of data management, analysis, and reporting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Knowledge of business intelligence and data visualization software required; Microsoft PowerBI a plus. Additional requirements include knowledge of intermediate statistics for business reporting, ability to generate complex database queries for reporting, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to train others on database usage, and ability to craft compelling reports and visuals using data gleaned from databases. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.

    The Data Operations Analyst position pays in the range of $74,000 to $77,000.
