  • About Us

Food & Friends was founded to provide home-delivered meals and friendship to people living with HIV/AIDS. These services remain at the core of our mission: caring for people with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses by providing home-delivered freshly prepared meals, groceries, and nutritional counseling. Food & Friends is the only nonprofit organization in the Washington, DC region providing these services.

Food & Friends helps family members, friends, and loved ones provide care and support for our clients and, when possible, promotes self-sufficiency. Our chefs and registered dieticians design meals that meet the special needs of persons with a broad range of life-challenging illnesses. We fulfill our mission through a partnership between volunteers and dedicated staff. Our confidential services are free of charge to individuals and families living throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
