    Position Title: Organizing Director- Network Capacity

    Annual Pay Range:​ $105,000 - $120,000

    The Child Care For Every Family Network brings together the people directly involved in and impacted by child care—parents, providers, and advocates—to build a racial and gender justice-centered child care infrastructure that is accountable to those who have been most harmed by our lack of investment and currently underfunded programs. We are convening families, organizations, and providers across localities, states, and the nation to develop shared strategies to fundamentally transform child care.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Organizing Director for Network Capacity plays an integral role for the Child Care for Every Family Network and works with Network leaders, members, allies and supporters to develop greater alignment in our work to win universal, equitable child care. Reporting to the Co-Directors, they assist with developing training, cohorts, curriculum, and other opportunities for engagement with the Network; ensuring strong cross-collaboration and communication across the network’s leaders and programs. This is a senior role and requires a strong background in organizing, coalition and network-building, popular education approaches and curriculum development.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

    Strategic Leadership in Engagement, Outreach & Growth

    • Lead the Network’s outreach and growth strategy while deepening engagement with members, allies, and partner organizations.
    • Utilize a grassroots organizing model to grow and activate the Network’s membership and extend the reach of the collective movement.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for network expansion, increased visibility, and greater collective impact.
    • Develop and implement network-wide actions and strategies focused on building collective power and advancing shared goals.

    Member & Ally Relationship Building

    • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with Network members and allies, particularly those in intersecting issue areas.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for key members and allies, fostering alignment and collaboration within and across movements.
    • Support onboarding and integration of new members through intentional relationship-building, programming, and resource-sharing.

    Program Development & Movement Alignment

    • Direct the development and ongoing delivery of responsive Network programming and curriculum rooted in race, gender, and economic justice.
    • Ensure programming reflects a shared understanding of history, values, and goals using a popular education approach.
    • Collaborate closely with the Political Director and Director of Federal Advocacy to ensure programs respond to member needs and strategic campaigns.

    Staff Coordination & Cross-Team Collaboration

    • Clearly define and communicate staff roles and responsibilities within the engagement strategy.
    • Provide ongoing support, training, and leadership development to staff and member leaders to strengthen engagement.
    • Work in close partnership with the Communications Director to support network-wide information-sharing and storytelling.

    Leadership Development

    • Support and collaborate with our parent/family and provider constituency group co-leads to provide effective programming to parent/family and provider leaders.
    • Ensure identified Network leaders receive the support, resources, and leadership development opportunities they need.

    Network Data, Tracking & Evaluation

    • Lead the management of Network data systems, ensuring accurate collection and regular reporting in EveryAction (EA).
    • Track engagement and growth metrics to evaluate strategy effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
    • Work in partnership with the Data Management Owner to review data regularly and make adjustments as needed.

    EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

    • Commitment to Child Care for Every Family Network’s mission and values
    • Commitment to personal anti-racism work
    • Experience with, and preference for, working in a racially and culturally-diverse environment with people of all abilities and backgrounds
    • 5+ years experience in organizing, training and curriculum development work with a focus on racial/gender/economic justice
    • Demonstrated success collaborating with similar organizations
    • Demonstrate success in managing large projects collaboratively
    • Demonstrated experience in movement building and power-building work
    • Experience leading, coaching, and supervising a team of strong, justice-focused advocates
    • Be able to develop leaders and build community
    • Have excellent time and project management skills
    • Is able to work independently and within a collaborative and interdependent team environment
    • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Have strong computer skills, including, Microsoft Office, Google programs, video conferencing technology and CRM platforms
    • Able to work from home with a fully remote team
    • Be available for some evening hours to accommodate the scheduling needs of constituency group meetings, events and other trainings.

    VALUED AND NON-ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

    • Fluency in Spanish or another language

    Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 200 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
