    Description

    Rising Hope Mission Church (United Methodist) is a safe place where you can gain spiritual and physical sustenance. We have several worship opportunities available and offer assistance through our Food Market, Rising Hope Kitchen, Hope Closet, Hypothermia Shelter, and countless other need-based services.

    The Community Engagement Coordinator will report directly to the Lead Pastor of Rising Hope.

    Community Engagement Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a culture that exemplifies Rising Hope’s core tenets of creating a loving and inclusive environment for all persons.
    • Exemplify the standards necessary to lead within a faith community environment.
    • Identify key target audiences such as individuals, churches/faith communities, civic groups, and businesses and develop tailored outreach strategies to connect them with Rising Hope’s mission.
    • Act as the first point of contact for potential volunteers, donors, and partners, providing clear information and a warm welcome before connecting them to the appropriate staff member for deeper engagement.
    • Promote awareness of Rising Hope’s work through outreach efforts, presentations, and events that inspire others to get involved as volunteers, donors, or advocates.
    • Maintain collaborative relationships with local organizations, congregations, and networks to expand Rising Hope’s visibility and reach.
    • Research and attend volunteer fairs, church/faith community events, and community gatherings to recruit volunteers and invite new partnerships.
    • Organize and host introductory outreach events (e.g., information sessions, open houses, webinars, small gatherings) designed to engage and educate potential donors and volunteers.
    • Collaborate with internal staff to assess department-specific volunteer and donor needs, ensuring outreach efforts are aligned with current capacity and priorities.
    • Work with the communications team to develop clear, compelling outreach materials, including flyers, emails, presentations, and talking points that reflect Rising Hope’s mission and voice.
    • Organize, train, and empower staff, volunteers, and community members to participate in outreach efforts, ensuring Rising Hope’s story and mission are shared with authenticity, consistency, and passion.
    • Track outreach activities, measuring impact, and analyzing data to inform future strategies.

    Work Hours and Benefits

    • Full Time Exempt ($45-48K Salaried)
    • Some weekends required

    • Knowledge of community resources and dynamics
    • Knowledge of basic marketing platforms
    • Ability to balance working on individual initiatives with being part of a team
    • Advocate the highest ideals of the spirit and vision of Rising Hope Mission Church
    • Ability to relate comfortably and confidently with people from very diverse backgrounds and cultures

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Preferred experience of 2 to 3 years conducting outreach, community engagement, and or non-profit fund development.
    • Ability to manage budgets
    • Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
