    Description

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1) Program Development and Management:

    • Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of programs and projects aligned with the organization's mission and strategic objectives. Develop, implement, and refine field plans to contact voters through an efficient use of available resources.
    • Develop comprehensive program plans, including goals, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
    • Team Leadership and Management:
      • Responsible for the training, supervision, and retention of programmatic staff.
      • Supervise and support a team of 5-10 full, and part-time employees, and large group of volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration. Be flexible on the needs of the organization
      • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members to maximize their potential and effectiveness.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation:
      • Establish robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness, track key performance indicators, and measure outcomes.
      • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve program quality, relevance, and impact.
    • Strategic Planning:
      • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and refine the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment between programmatic goals and broader organizational objectives.
      • Provide the Executive Director recommendations based on emerging trends, best practices, and stakeholder feedback.
    • Partnership Development:
      • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, elected officials, community organizations, funders, and other relevant entities.
      • Explore opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance program impact.

    2) Operations management:

    • Develop and implement necessary operational policies, procedures, and systems to support the organization's mission and objectives.
    • Oversee the organization's day-to-day operations, including program management, human resources, and administration.
    • Ensure efficient resource allocation and utilization to maximize impact and sustainability.
    • Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Lead efforts to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
    • Provide regular reports and updates to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on operational performance and outcomes.
    • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline workflow and improve productivity
    • Evaluate operational processes and systems to identify areas for optimization and standardization

    The Managing Director’s estimated time breakdown is as follows:

    • Programs (60%)
    • Hiring / Training (15%)
    • Events Management (10%)
    • Partnerships / Coalitions (5%)
    • Administrative (10%)

    Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in nonprofit, elections or voter engagement preferred.
    • Proficiency in data management, spreadsheet, and database tracking systems.
    • Strong interpersonal, time-management, and written/oral communication skills.
    • Cultural competency with immigrant and underserved communities, particularly the South Asian American community.
    • Proven track record of successful program implementation
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to keep accurate records and manage work independently.
    • Experience with CRM and donor software and technologies (e.g., Every Action, Mailchimp, Mobilize) preferred.
    • Proficient with computer and Internet access, reliable transportation, and occasional evening/weekend availability.
    • Experience managing teams, inspiring staff, and improving structures and processes.
    • Familiarity with the Texas civic engagement landscape and various voter database systems is a plus.
    • Bilingual proficiency in a South Asian language (e.g., Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Urdu) is a plus.
