    Overview

    We are seeking a passionate and experienced Development Director to join our established prestigious dance company and school. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of an organization dedicated to fostering creativity, artistry, and education in the performing arts.

    The Development Director will work with the Executive Director and core TMBT team members to implement fundraising initiatives; including but not limited to, an Annual Fund Campaign that includes donor renewal & acquisition, stewardship events, sponsorships, and grants.

    This position will report to the Executive Director.

    Responsibilities

    Fundraising

    • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals.
    • Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects for donations, sponsorships, and grants.
    • Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations, and community partners.
    • Plan and manage fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives including thank-you follow up correspondence.
    • Maintain and update donor database information
    • Play an active role in managing donor benefit levels

    Grant Writing and Management

    • Research and apply for relevant grants to support the organization's programs and operational needs.
    • Track grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications and reports.
    • Manage the relationship and provide follow-up and final reports as required by each giving organization

    Strategic Development

    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership to create a long-term development strategy including providing reporting for and participate in meetings with the Development Committee of the Board
    • Provide monthly updates and reports on fundraising plans, efforts, outcomes, and metrics
    • Help identify opportunities for expanding the organization’s funding sources.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • Proven experience in fundraising and donor cultivation is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with prospects and build lasting relationships.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Mission driven with a desire and ability to work in collaborative teams.
    • Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, board members, volunteers, community groups, and other related agencies.
    • Strong organization skills that enable consistent and timely execution of quality work.
    • Strong skills in grant writing, event planning, and campaign management.

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years related work experience in fundraising
    • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Passion for the performing arts.
    • Proficient in CRM database entry and reporting

    Work Schedule

    This is a part-time position, working an approximate average of 20 hours/week requiring flexible hours to accommodate fundraising events and meetings. Specific scheduling may be determined in collaboration with organizational leadership.

    Compensation

    Compensation is hourly, ranging between $38/hr and $44/hr, and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
