Covenant House PA provides shelter and a continuum of care for youth experiencing homelessness or commercial exploitation to make a significant impact with this critical issue.     ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Development Coordinator facilitates accurate data entry and timely donor

    communications at all stages of gift processing. Acting as a liaison between the Development and Finance departments, the Coordinator will monitor and complete data entry to incoming gifts as well as acknowledge donations on a monthly basis. This role includes enhancing and executing stewardship plans, performing administrative tasks, developing and/or implementing strategies to create, strengthen, and elevate donor recognition programs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain a well-kept and organized data base system including, but not limited to: donor names, up to date notes about donors and foundations, current addresses and gift information
    • Process personal acknowledgment and stewardship letters for signature by Chief Executive Officer/Chief Development Officer
    • Support the development and implementation of stewardship plans for donors at various recognition levels
    • Collaborate with team to develop consistent acknowledgment and recognition procedures for individual, in-kind, event related, and foundation gifts for all groups
    • Research and prepare summaries and reports that serve as background for executive meetings and conversations with key supporters
    • Research donors and event attendees
    • Support a process that prompts Chief Executive Officer and key development team members in maintaining personal contact with major donors, key supporters and volunteers
    • Create marketing materials such as flyers and other items as needed for events and campaigns
    • Communicate with donors as needed to answer questions and fulfill requests, via telephone, email, and mail; offer clear and concise explanations and answers to donors
    • Direct donor requests to additional development staff when necessary
    • Support Development teammates with mailings
    • Monitor returned mail and donor requests regarding contact information changes, updating the CRM accordingly
    • Assist the Development team with events as needed

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    You are an excellent fit for this role if you:

    • Have earned a Bachelor’s Degree and have worked for one to two years in the non-profit sector or in an administrative support role in another field.
    • Are detail oriented with excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adhere to multiple deadlines.
    • Have good decision-making skills, a willingness to search out answers, and the ability to recognize when others need to be involved in activities or decisions.
    • Have a sense of creativity, curiosity, high energy level, and an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals.
    • Can understand individual donor needs and perception.
    • Are a team player.
    • Have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite; experience reviewing and improving Excel systems is a plus.
    • Have knowledge of/experience with CRM systems (EveryAction a plus).
    • Enjoy working closely with data with special attention to accurate and timely record-keeping and data entry.
    • Have strong customer service and communication abilities.
    • Are willing to manage up when needed to meet deadlines.

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Have experience using EveryAction or a similar CRM system in a development setting.
    • Have supported multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including online giving and peer-to-peer fundraising.

    ● Enjoy building systems, spreadsheets, or processes that streamline donor engagement.

    ● Are skilled in graphic design platforms (e.g. Canva, Adobe) for donor-facing materials.

    ● Bring a solutions-oriented mindset and strong commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
