HEART’s (Humane Education Advocates Reaching Teachers) mission is to foster compassion and respect toward people, animals, and the environment by educating youth and teachers in humane education.
Humane education teaches students the value of kindness and shapes attitudes toward different cultural and human rights issues. It provides students with an opportunity to integrate qualities such as compassion, tolerance, and integrity into their daily lives, and gives teachers the tools needed to support students’ learning. Through our instructional programs and experiential learning activities, we teach students how animal protection, human rights and environmental ethics are all inter-connected, fostering compassion and respect toward the earth and all its inhabitants.
