the Art School at Old Church, New Jersey
The Art School at Old Church is a meeting place for learning and exchanging artistic ideas. Our goal is to provide an environment conducive to the creative process. We believe that art is an important expression of the human spirit, that creativity is an innate function and that in a supportive and inspiring atmosphere it is bound to flourish.
Established in 1974 as a nonprofit educational facility, our mission is to enrich the quality of life in the community through visual arts education and cultural events. Our well-equipped studios are light, spacious, and primarily barrier-free. A faculty of professional artists provides serious and sensitive guidance, devoted to the principle that art and craft are inseparable.
Our courses are designed to give students a basis in aesthetics as well as technique. A year-round program of exhibitions and cultural events enriches our offerings. Supported by tuition and membership, as well as by individual and corporate contributions and government grants, the tax-exempt, nonprofit Art School is open to all.
