A Woman's Worth, Inc.

Aww Inc in a non-profit, non-governmental organization that focuses on dignity, health and human rights via menstruation hygiene management programs. We provide and encourage a female perspective in academic, professional and community settings, provide sound sanitary solutions for vulnerable girls and women, and promote worth and dignity as a human right . We have several programs and each one is tailored to the community we are working in. For example, in some places we’re building latrines and designing water systems with menstruation and women’s needs in mind. In other places, we’re providing comprehensive education on puberty, hygiene, and even bullying. In areas where feminine hygiene is inaccessible and unaffordable, we provide sanitary satchels, our kit that was designed to help women manage their periods safely and effectively. Here in the U.S. we sew those kits and donate pads and tampons to shelters, as well as work on media and legislation that draws attention to issues that contribute to what we call “the cycle of indignity”. And we don’t stop there! Read on.

We believe that long term (sustainable) dignity is important and the ability to provide for oneself has long-lasting positive consequences. Our programs are designed to be a doorway to a more dignified future. For example, in the U.S. we’re working on employing the same vulnerable women that we help. In developing countries we are working on sanitary pad manufacturing facilities that will be owned and operated by the local women.
