About Us

Tel Aviv University

"We Major in Israel's Future" is not just a tagline, but for over 50 years has been the core mission of Tel Aviv University.

With 30,000 students and more than 100 departments, Tel Aviv University is Israel's largest and most comprehensive center of higher learning and the largest Jewish university in the world.

The introduction of new multidisciplinary research and teaching programs in fields ranging from bioinformatics and nanotechnology to the neurosciences and high-tech management has contributed to the unprecedented growth of the student population. In addition, the expansion of academic activities and the addition of new physical facilities have enabled the University to have a unique impact on Israel's society.

Many of the world's most esteemed researchers, government, military and business leaders come to Tel Aviv University to develop new ways to approach their work.

Students and faculty are the future of Israel, and at Tel Aviv University, they have the ability to not only think about Israel's future - but to help shape it.

Tel Aviv University enjoys the support of dedicated friends throughout the world. They are a critical link to the University and are valued partners in helping to fulfill the mission and support the programs of the University.

Tel Aviv University:American Council (TAUAC) is a not-for-profit voluntary organization whose primary purpose, as stated in its bylaws, is to raise funds for the development and advancement of higher education, research and training in all branches of knowledge in Israel and elsewhere. Our primary source of funding is specific contributions from the general public for various University projects.

TAUAC also acts as a link between American and Israeli scholars, government officials and community leaders. It hosts a variety of lectures, seminars, conferences, and other educational and cultural events to encourage increased dialogue between the people of the United States and Israel.
