  • About Us

PRERNA is a non-profit humanitarian organization that empowers refugees with the opportunity to rebuild a sustainable life in the United States. We help refugees across all ethnicities and faiths become independent with continuum care. Our services include housing, healthcare, supplies, cultural assimilation, education and employment opportunities. We are located in Santa Clara County, California.

“We aim to give refugees a chance at opportunities that most of us take for granted. Through continued service to the less fortunate, we hope to expand to further causes and greater charitable efforts.”

    - Meena Sankaran, Founder and Executive Director, PRERNA

There are over 20 million refugees of all ages around the world who need new homes. Fleeing from conflict-ridden countries, they did not choose where they are born and life has not been easy or fair to them. As global citizens and fellow human beings, we can help those who are less fortunate. We can make a stand to welcome refugees and empower them to rebuild their lives and have a more hopeful future. At PRERNA, we offer volunteer opportunities where you can participate and support our programs and efforts to help refugees become independent, constructive members of society.
