Our group is aimed at connecting professional and amateur journalists to citizen journalists (everybody) via an online network using an Open Source platform in an attempt to bring about a collaborative approach to newsmaking as opposed to the traditional "I speak, you hear" approach.

In addition, we seek to provide this platform as a public service rather than a commodity as traditional news outlets view this information, so that end users implicitly understand a need for financial and personal support of the system as opposed to an express demand for payment. The goal is to help neighborhoods and cities establish a wireless mesh-network for its residents/citizens and allow said residents to build their own hyperlocal sites revolving around their neighborhood or small city.
